ARMS Essentials for Elder Adult Mediation is a 3-day advanced mediator training program in cooperation with the Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding Program, California State University, Dominguez Hills. 22.5 approved MCLE credits available. ARMS Sharing Best Practices Continuing Education Thursday Series is a 3-hour evening focused on a topic related to aging issues, elder law, ethics and community resources with practical application to conflict resolution and mediation practice with a short case study, debriefing in small groups and reporting out, networking and light dinner. This series concentrates on building relationships while learning new ideas and concepts that can be incorporated into your work with elders. This series is for mediators, geriatric care managers, service providers, social workers and any other professionals working with elders. 3 approved MCLE credits available. 3 approved CEU credits available for LCSWs and MFTs and provided by Jewish Family Service. ARMS Stakeholders Consensus Conference is a facilitated, hands-on practical 5-hour training for professional providers serving elders. Learning objectives are centered on building relationships and how mediation fits into a spectrum of multi-disciplinary approaches for clients to effectively resolve their concerns and multi-disciplinary process to mediation. Ethics Focus Group is an organized study group that meets regularly to analyze and discuss ethical issues and challenges that frequently surface in elder mediations. As a continuing work in progress, this focus group is grappling with a draft working set of standards of practice and guidelines for elder mediation. This is a networking opportunity and all are welcome, no fee. First come, first serve.
